Hypnosis is a state that is best described as a relaxed narrowed focus. We fall into this state naturally every day. When we drive, we’ll reach our destination and often not remember the journey because we are so entranced in thought. It is in this state of a narrow focus that our subconscious can become more receptive to consciously desired strategies and beliefs.
What does hypnosis feel like?
Hypnosis feels like having a nap on the couch with the television on in the background. We are half awake listening to the sounds of the TV but we are also almost sleeping, relaxing on the couch. This is the best comparison.
I’m not good at giving up control – can hypnosis still help?
You don’t have to give up ‘control’. In the hypnotic state, contrary to stage show hypnosis representations, you cannot be made to do anything you do not consciously wish to do. Nor will you tell anyone any secrets you do not wish to be told.
Can every one be hypnotized?
Yes. Everyone has the capabilities of being able to be hypnotised. However, one must want to be in the hypnotic state. You cannot force people ‘under’. Also, some may need a referral from their physician in order to obtain an appointment. Please call Jo-Ann for further information.
How much does it cost?
$125 per session
